About the Role

As an Assistant Transport Planner at Schmidt Global Relocations, you support the daily transport planning activities within the organization. You are responsible for receiving transport orders, subcontracting shipments, and ensuring the administrative and operational follow.

You play a key role in maintaining an efficient and commercially sound planning operation within Europe.

This position requires accuracy, decisiveness, and a strong understanding of transport processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming transport orders
• Subcontract shipments to trusted charter partners
• Coordinate and guide drivers and charter companies by phone
• Record transport agreements accurately in the system
• Prepare transport instructions and documentation

You actively contribute to combining supply and demand efficiently and minimizing empty mileage.

Do you recognize yourself?

You have:

• Knowledge of standard transport rates and charter pricing
• Understanding of groupage and part load transport within Europe
• Familiarity with fixed rate agreements and regular clients
• Insight into a reliable charter network and their transport capabilities
• Experience with planning and administrative software systems

You are attentive when analyzing transport requests and ensure agreements are recorded clearly and correctly.

This is primarily an office based role involving frequent use of PC systems and telephone communication.

You operate in a dynamic environment where timely decision making is essential. At times, you will work under pressure to secure suitable transport solutions.
